The development of a combined Arch Cape – Watershed and NCLC – Rainforest Reserve Public Access & Recreation Policy has been underway for several years under the facilitation of the National Parks Service (NPS). That work has been concluded by the Board on July 20th.
The Board is now focusing their efforts on an Arch Cape Watershed specific policy. They will review the most recent update from the NPS, which includes Public Comments on their proposed Policy. In parallel, a Public Access & Recreation survey of Arch Cape rate payers and lot owners is now ongoing. Based on the NPS update and the results from Arch Cape Water District current survey, the Board will draft a proposed Public Access & Recreation Policy, post it for public review and schedule it for discussion, refinement and approval at an upcoming Board Meeting (either August or September). The Board approved Policy will then be submitted for to the Forest Legacy Program for their approval per contractual obligations.
